Glory Bee is a faith-based community committed to service,
inspiring God’s people through unity, learning, and love of nature.
Beekeeping is an ancient Catholic tradition. Bees are the perfect model for God’s Church as bees live in service, working in harmony for the good of the hive.
Bees Are Transformative
Just as bees transform nectar into honey, Catholics are reminded of their responsibility to listen to the Word of God, meditate on it and transform it into the honey of good work.
Our ministry’s core focus areas include:
Prayer
We teach how a consistent prayer life can be transforming and how the work we will be completing can be offered up for many things.
Service
Through helping our neighbors and working together to celebrate God’s creation we will develop new connections for friendship and community.
Formation
Through studying Catholic history and leaning on the wisdom of the Saints, we
will forge new paths of understanding and appreciation of our faith and future within it.
Stewardship
We focus on gratitude for the seasons, our harvests, and meditative reflections on sufferings and sacrifice that comes with hard work and
taking care of God’s creation
and our Earth.
Evangelization
Through storytelling and formation lessons we build confidence and excitement to reach others about God’s wonders and teachings.
Bees and the Catholic Faith
In Christ, we are given the call and purpose of humility, service, and to the building up of the Church. We are called to offer up our lives for and to Him.
Through learning and formation topics shared through Glory Bee monthly sessions, our group plans to study:
Passages from the Introduction to the Devout Life, by St. Francis de Sales, friend of the honey bee.
Our Lady within the Catholic Church -our Queen and our devotion to her.
How worker bees are chaste, protect the unborn, fight evil, care for the dead, spread good news of resources, and serve others through pollination and gathering food.
The Exsultet, the hymn sung during the Easter Vigil’s Service of Light
Patron Saints of bees and beekeeping
Passages related to bees, honey, creation and more within the Holy Bible.
Bees around the world including the hives at Notre Dame Cathedral and the bees of Rome.
And much more…
Glory Bee Structure
Glory Bee plans to hold one community opportunity session once a month for all of 2025. Members of Glory Bee with have the opportunity to participate in 4 larger events where the group “swarms” to a location and completes a project. The project end goal is always to be shared with others through word, action, service, or a shareable item.
